Roof Covering
If the roof has multiple types of roof covering, the one that comprises greater than 50% of the roof surface is the type selected for the inspection. Shingles installed under the requirements of the 2001 or 2004 FBC must meet increased resistance standards.

Written confirmation or receipts can provide assistance in determining the year the roof covering was installed, and may include:

  • Information on the manufacturer and product line
  • Product approval number
  • Type of covering
  • Date of installation

(All shingles with permits dated on or before February 28, 2002 meet these requirements)
